Part III Series of ten people Leprosy: Don't forget to Give Thank to Lord for every Miracles

Luke 17:15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

Has been described in the previous topic that the ten lepers was experiencing the healing when in the middle of the road to the Priests. But when they experience the healing, only one man who returned to Jesus to give thanks for the miracles that have been receipt. I'm sure before this one came back, surely have been happened debates among them. This one surely ask the nine others come again to Jesus to say thank you and give thanks, but the nine others still insist on continuing their journey to the Priests.

Why do they insist to meet the Priest? Because the Priests has right to verify that they has been healed or not. If they have recovered then they will be cleansed, and they will be received again join in their community.

Leviticus 14:2-4 This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest: And the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look, and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper; Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:

In this case we see that the nine lepers who has been healed more interested seeking recognition from priest than came to Jesus to give thanks. This means they are more important to seek recognition from the world than give thanks to God. Miracles just change their bodies from the sick body into a healthy body but not changing their habits. They still remain on the old life that focused on the things of the world.

Things like this are still we see today. There are people who have experienced the blessing of God even miracles, but did not come to glorify and serve the Lord. Perhaps they have been saved from an embarrassing bankruptcy same like disease of leprosy, some of them maybe has been cured from illness which the can not be cured by doctor, or some of them maybe rescued from a broken family, but when the situation has been restored, they did not come to the Lord to give thanks and serve him. On the contrary they go to the world and proudly tell their new circumstances and re-live the old life pattern.

My brother and sister, be like this one. When the miracle happened in his life, he came to the Lord and glorify the Lord more than glorify himself by seeking recognition of the world. Let us count how many blessings and miracles that we have received from God. Have you come to Him to say give thanks and serve him?

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you for blessings and miracles that have a lot we received from thee. Teach us to be like the one leper who returned to you to give thanks for the miracles that he had received. Let we serve you as a thanksgiving for all Thy goodness. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen

Part II Series of ten people Leprosy; Miracles happen when obedience to the Word of God

Luke 17:14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

At the part one before already discussed that came to Jesus is the first step to experience a miracle. These ten lepers came to Jesus because they have faith and believe that Jesus could heal their illness. News about Jesus and His power so rapidly spread widely and makes faith of people who are in pain get up. The people who saw and experienced his power has witnessed the power of miracle which works in Jesus.

Rome 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

That's why how importance of the testimony because the testimony would grow and raise the faith of people who heard that testimony.

In this section we discuss that miracles do happen at the word of God. In Luke 17:14 we see that Jesus simply said to them, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." After Jesus said this without much question that the ten lepers to go straight to do what Jesus commanded. Not noted in the Bible that the debate with Jesus about the command. They take orders and do it with sincerity. Also in the biblical record that they grumble, not like Naaman, Naaman was a man who experienced the same illness came on Elisha to pray to ask for better. Elisha told Naaman to go to the Jordan and bathed there seven times. This story can be read in II Kings 5:10. The same disease, the same commands, but differ in response to the order. These ten lepers obeyed without question to Jesus while Naaman to Elisha command grudgingly. Paragraph below is the nagging of Naaman.

II Kings 5:11-12 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

They're all has healed, but there was something different. Naaman healed after completely seven times dipping himself in the river Jordan while the ten lepers healed during on the way to Priest.

The important point from this story is obey Word of God bring miracles. Brothers and Sisters, if you want to experience miracles, please obey the word of God, do it with sincerity, without debating. If you do that, the miracle will come to your life. Jesus bless us. Amen
